So I was hanging out in Bangkok, trying to decompress from all the hectic travel, when I realized that I had been cooped up in a city for too long. I met a fun group of climbers in Bangkok and we decided to get out of the city for the weekend. We ended up going to น้ำ ผา ป่าใหญ่ (Nam Pha Pa Yai) which is a climbing camp just a couple hours north of Bangkok.
It’s a really cool location that feels a bit like Crazy Horse but even more chill. Even on the weekend there weren’t that many climbers, and I can imagine it gets even more quiet during the week. The camp staff is friendly. The food is delicious. There is cheap camping with tents provided, even cheaper if you bring your own hammock, and if you want to live it up there’s the tree house!
Probably one of the highlights of Nam Pha Pa Yai is the zipline. It’s the only access to the climbing, but that doesn’t mean you have to climb to have a reason to zip back and forth repeatedly! XD
The climbing isn’t anything particularly amazing, except this one swiss cheese climb that I thought was just too cool. (You’ll see the pictures). But if I had more time in Thailand I would for sure spend it here. It’s quiet, cheap and just filled with good vibes. Okay, time for some pictures!
